Happy New Year!!!!

Yes, it's January 2012, the start of a brand new year. Your community fire department responded to over 714 calls for assistance, never failing to answer any request. Last year was a very positive one with your department acquiring a new pumper, new equipment and the starting of Fire Station # 2 at 3700 Farmer Rd. Many of these items were covered by money through grants keeping the donation rate still at $7.00 a month.
No other department in Fort Bend County can provide the level of community service at that price, thanks to your volunteer firefighters and you.

News and Announcements
On Monday, January 9, 2012, the rains came and came and came. Flooding of streets did occur over a widespread area of the Pecan Grove area. A joint emergency e-mail was sent out by the PGVFD and the PGMUD to notify the residents of the conditions. Our residents responded well. Your fire department responded well also, by bringing on an additional crew to answer the emergency calls expected to occur with the flooding but the emergencies calls did not happen. It seems that our residents stayed in the homes, schools or work and waited for the rains to stop and the water to recede. The rain stopped and the streets cleared. Total emergency calls for assistance, one water vehicle rescue. Again, this demonstrates how your department can respond to emergency events.

On Tuesday November 15, 2011, the PGVFD received a very interesting document produced by a resident of Pecan Grove. We believe every resident should take the time to read this document. It can be found on the Myths & Facts webpage on this site. This document was not produced by the PGVFD.

Please see "ISO What PGVFD IS DOING" page on this website to see what the PGVFD was never allowed to present.

Tuesday October 25th, the PGMUD Board of Directors met for their regular monthly meeting. A discussion was held about the Fire MUD Plan committee report. The report was given but 35 residents showed up to object. After a long sometimes rancorous discussion no action was taken by the PGMUD Board. However, during the meeting PGMUD Director & Chairman of the Fire MUD Plan Committee Richard Stolleis stepped down from the committee and recused himself from any further discussions of or actions about the Fire MUD Plan after questions of conflict of interest were raised by several residents. Both PGMUD Directors Richard Stolleis and John Menchew have now left the Fire MUD Plan Committee. PGMUD Director Krahn will now chair the committee.
